Flash Player for the Kindle Fire HDX

How-to Install Adobe Flash Player to the Kindle Fire HDX

hdx-flash

Adobe stopped supporting Flash for the Kindle since the first generation Kindle Fire. Fortunately, there is still a way to install and run Flash on the Kindle Fire HDX. It requires a method known as ‘side-loading’. It’s easier than it sounds and does not require flashing or hacking your device.

1. Allow Installation of Applications
Settings> Applications >Apps from Unknown Sources - Make sure this option is checked. This will allow you to ‘side-load’ the Flash file and browser.

2. Download & Install Adobe Flash Player
On the Kindle Fire, open up the browser and download the Adobe Flash Player.apk file here:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/…/install_flash_player_ics.apk
(this is a direct download from Adobe)

After the file is finished downloading, click on the menu icon, click Downloads, and open the file to install it.

3. Download & Install Dolphin Browser
Flash is now installed on your HDX. You will now need to install a Flash supported browser because the default browser on the Kindle Fire does not support Flash. On the Kindle Fire, open up the browser and download the Dolphin Browser.apk file here:  http://www.mediafire.com/download/…/Dolphin_Browser_10.0.0.apk
After the file is finished downloading, click on the menu icon, click Downloads, and open the file to install it.

4. Run Flash on your Kindle Fire HDX!
Use the Dolphin Browser whenever you want to use Flash. Your Kindle Fire HDX can now stream flash videos (Hulu.com, YouTube.com, etc.), play flash games (Facebook), & browse flash websites (ESPN, CNN, etc.).
